Examples of Community Involvement Products Used in ATSDR's Public Health Assessment Process June 2002 Instructions for CD This CD contains community involvement products developed and used by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). It is a companion CD for a 16-page booklet entitled Community Involvement in ATSDR's Public Health Assessment Process. The booklet and CD were prepared by the Community Involvement Branch (CIB), Division of Health Assessment and Consultation, for ATSDR's Public Health Assessment (PHA) Training. This training is mainly provided to ATSDR staff and its cooperative agreement partners. Occasionally other stakeholders may attend. Examples of community involvement products, such as fact sheets, are provided via this CD to participants of the PHA training to show how ATSDR uses these materials to involve site communities in ATSDR's work. The products have been prepared by ATSDR's Visual Information Center (VIC); the Office of Policy and External Affairs; the Program Evaluation, Records, and Information Services Branch, DHAC; and by CIB. The products are filed by type: Comment Sheets, Fact Sheets, Flyers, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Maps, Media Announcements, Posters, and Pre-Printed Paper. Products prepared by VIC and GIS are in two or more colors, while fact sheets and flyers prepared by CIB in-house are usually printed with black ink on either pre-printed colored paper (five colors available) or on colored paper (blue, green, etc.). Those that CIB prepares will be shown in this CD in black ink only, except for some examples on pre-printed colored paper which have been scanned. The following acronyms are used to describe the different products. CS Comment sheet FL Flyer FS Fact sheet MA Media announcement PT Poster CIB Developed and prepared by CIB, except for media announcements which are prepared by the Office of Policy and External Affairs.
